Everything you need to know before you commit
Landscaping is the design, groundwork and planting that turns a plot into a garden, from a fresh roll of premium turf on a properly prepared base, to an artificial lawn that stays green year-round, to full transformations with planting, borders, edging and lighting.
Homeowners doing a driveway or patio and wanting the rest of the garden finished at the same time, buyers moving into a property with a neglected garden, and anyone whose existing lawn is patchy, waterlogged or overrun with weeds.
New-build gardens that need starting from scratch, tired lawns that need lifting and re-laying, dog-owners considering artificial grass, and any garden that needs planting schemes designed to last more than one season.
A £300 pallet of turf laid on unprepared ground is a £300 mistake. The soil prep, levelling, membrane (for artificial), and drainage decide whether your lawn thrives or dies within a year. We do this properly.
What happens if you delay, or hire the wrong crew
Most landscaping problems come from cutting corners on the invisible bits, the soil quality under turf, the base under artificial grass, the drainage under planted borders. What looks perfect in month one browns off, goes bald, or waterlogs by month six.
Risks of putting it off
- New turf browning and dying because the soil beneath wasn't prepared
- Artificial grass migrating or lifting from a soft or un-membrane'd base
- Waterlogged borders killing planting through winter
- Weeds pushing through artificial grass because the membrane was skipped
- Uneven finished levels leaving the lawn looking amateur from day one
Common mistakes homeowners make
- Rolling turf straight onto compacted builder's rubble
- Choosing cheap artificial grass that fades and matts within two summers
- Skipping soil improvement in planted borders
- Not planning garden lighting before finishing, chasing cables in later
- Ignoring drainage on a north-facing or clay plot

Plant beds prepared, plants placed and planted, mulch laid, edging installed. Cable ducts run for lighting if that's part of the scheme.

The measurable benefits you get
One team, one guarantee
The same crew that lays your driveway or patio also handles the lawn, borders and planting, no handoffs, no finger-pointing when something's not right.
Turf that actually thrives
We prepare the soil properly, stripped, improved, levelled and rolled, before a single roll of turf lands. That's why our lawns still look good 12 months in.
Premium artificial grass options
We only fit UV-stable, longer-life artificial ranges with proper base, membrane and edging. Cheap alternatives fade and matt within two summers, we don't touch them.
Coordinated hard + soft
Levels, drainage and edging are planned across the whole garden, so your patio doesn't sit 20mm above the lawn and your borders don't drown in winter.
Integrated lighting and power
Cable ducts and IP-rated sockets run during the base build so lighting can be fitted now or added later without digging the garden up again.
10-year workmanship guarantee
On the hard landscaping, base builds and installation. Plus the manufacturer's warranty on the artificial grass. £1M public liability insured.
Materials, methods and specification
A great garden is a coordinated system, soil, drainage, hard surfaces, lawn, planting and lighting all working together. Here's how we build each layer.
Turf specification
Premium hard-wearing turf from established UK growers, cut fresh and delivered within 24 hours. Laid onto 25–50mm of graded topsoil over a rotovated, improved and levelled base. Rolled and watered on completion with a written aftercare schedule.
Artificial grass systems
Premium UV-stable artificial grass, typically 30–40mm pile, with realistic multi-tone yarn blends. Laid onto a compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base with 20mm granite dust top layer, geotextile membrane, and concreted timber or block edging. Joined seamlessly with adhesive and tape, never with visible seams.
Planting and borders
Beds prepared with improved topsoil and compost, plants placed to a considered scheme, mulched to reduce watering and suppress weeds. Structural planting for year-round interest, not one-season colour.
Edging
Timber, sleeper, brick, block or metal edging concreted in place to divide lawn from patio, planting and paths. This is what keeps the finished garden looking crisp for years.
Drainage and levels
Falls set across the whole garden so patios, lawns and borders shed water where it should go, not towards your walls or into low-lying beds. Soakaways or land drains where the site demands.
Lighting and power
Cable ducts run during the base build for low-voltage LED lighting, IP-rated sockets and irrigation systems, so nothing has to be retro-fitted with mess and disruption.
