Everything you need to know before you commit
Fencing is more than a boundary, it's what gives your garden privacy, security and the frame that hard landscaping and planting sit against. We install closeboard, feather-edge, panel, picket, palisade, hit-and-miss and slatted fencing, on properly concreted timber or concrete posts.

When existing panels are broken, leaning, rotten at the base, or the concrete post spurs have snapped. Also when you're re-landscaping and want the boundary properly finished before the lawn, patio or planting goes in.
Fences fail at the post base 90% of the time, either from timber rot or a concrete post spur snapping under wind load. We set every post in concrete, use gravel boards to keep timber off the ground, and match panel and post so the whole line ages together.

A cheap fence looks fine in year one and starts collapsing in year three. Panels blow out in the first winter gale, timber rots at the base, gates drop and won't close. The rebuild costs more than doing it right the first time.

Fence styles
Closeboard/feather-edge (best privacy and strength), lap panel (most cost-effective for straightforward runs), picket (traditional low boundary), palisade (open-front garden picket), hit-and-miss and slatted (contemporary look with airflow), plus post-and-rail for rural/paddock boundaries.
Post options
Pressure-treated softwood posts for standard runs, concrete slotted posts on exposed sites or where longevity matters most. All timber posts set 600mm+ into concrete with post-mix, never hand-driven spikes.
Gravel boards
Concrete or pressure-treated timber gravel boards fitted at the base of every panel. Keeps panel timber off wet ground, prevents rot, and gives a clean line at soil level.
Gates and hardware
Matching timber gates hung on heavy-duty galvanised or stainless hinges with T-hinges, drop-bolt catches or Yale-style locking for pedestrian gates, and pair-gates with drop bolts for wider access.
Boundary considerations
We check title plans and talk to neighbours where a shared boundary is being replaced, a fence built on the wrong line is trouble waiting to happen. We won't proceed without clarity.
Removal and disposal
Old timber, panels, posts, concrete stumps, wire and even leaning shed panels, all removed and disposed of as part of the job. No 'that'll be extra' at the end.
